Clarke County indentures, 1863-1869.

The collection consists of six indentures, pertaining to various Athens, Georgia people as follows: 1.) Manuel T. Kendrick sells to Albin P. Dearing part of lot 89 in Athens, price "tract of land and $125" cash, signed by M. T. Kendrick, witnessed by F. B. Lucas and S. J. Mays, Notary Public, dated January 4, 1869; 2.) Ferdinand Phinizy sells to Manuel T. Kendrick part of lots 88 and 89, price $500, signed by Ferdinand Phinizy, witnessed by A. T. Luckie and S. J. Mays, Notary Public, dated August 15, 1867; 3.) Ferdinand Phinizy sells to Manuel T. Kendrick part of lot 89, price $900, signed by Ferdinand Phinizy, witnessed by James D. Pittard and Jos. T. Sansom, J. S. C., dated May 31, 1866; 4.) Albin Dearing sells to Ferdinand Phinizy part of lot 88, price $700, signed by Albin P. Dearing, witnessed by James T. Sansom and Jos. D. Pittard, J. P., dated April 28, 1866; 5.) William L. Mitchell, Executor of Robert Taylor, sells to Albin P. Dearing lots 91, 96 and 97 in Thomas Survey of the College lands, price $845, signed by Wm. L. Mitchell, Executor of Robert Taylor witnessed by W. W. Lumpkin, D. H. Alexander, and John Kilpatrick, J. P., dated January 17, 1863; 6.) Memorandum of Agreement between A. P. Dearing and M. T. Kendrick RE a tract of land exchanged (no. 1 in this collection), that Kendrick can retain possession of the house and garden for present year, etc. etc., signed January 4, 1869 by... further notes on reverse indicate Kendrick agreed to relinquish the house and garden March 15, 1869, signed February 5, 1869 by Kendrick.
